Meet the Financial Options Group Team
CEO & Financial Adviser
Christian is the founder of The Financial Options Group and has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services.
Dedicated to delivering only the best service to each and every client, Christian has helped thousands achieve their financial goals and aspirations. In addition to helping companies and individuals create strategies for building significant wealth, he has also, through robust property investment, built a number of multi-million pound portfolios.
Christian enjoys both socialising with friends and keeping fit; he is also an avid golfer.
Operations Director & Financial Adviser
Possessing extensive experience in financial advice, Sarah is responsible for business strategy and management in her dual role as Group Operations Director and Financial Adviser.
Multi-tasking is second nature for Sarah, who builds business efficiency and advises clients in all areas of financial planning; she assists individual and corporate clients alike.
Spending time with her little boy Toby, walking their dog Murphy up Holcombe Hill and socialising and shopping with friends are Sarah’s favourite pastimes.
Head of People & Development
With more than a decade in the financial services, Charlotte oversees operational functions such as recruitment, staff training and reviews and workflow management. She also provides research and report writing for more complex cases. Answering obscure and technical queries with ease, Charlotte ensures processes are followed correctly and information is disseminated to the team, all keeping the The Financial Options Group running smoothly.
Away from work, Charlotte’s love of films, dining out and shopping comes second only to spending time with fiancé Tom and baking cakes with her niece.
Corporate Relationship Manager
With 28 years’ experience in the employee benefits field, Paula Cookson’s role as Corporate Relationship Manager sees her supporting business owners and employees in relation to the administration of group pensions and group risk arrangements. Communication is key to Paula’s effectiveness, as she cuts through the jargon and works to make the pensions regulations clear and accessible for all her clients.
While she tackles cycling challenges in her free time, Paula also loves all that glitters and is a self-confessed jewellery obsessive.
Paul formerly worked for two major insurers and following a spell in a partnership, he became a sales director in a firm eventually bought out by a FTSE 100 firm. For Paul, financial planning is about giving clients more choices and more control of their lives by helping them to make better financial decisions. The key to success, says Paul, is being able to put one’s self in the client’s shoes. Not to mention a good dose of enthusiasm.
With a grown-up family Paul enjoys watching his famous football team that plays in red - yes that's right Accrington Stanley! Squash and tennis keep him fit.
Mike has over 28 years' experience in financial services and acts as Account Manager for some of our large corporate clients.
He has been successful in helping businesses and their owners achieve their financial goals and aspirations. Developing and maintaining long term relationships has been key to his success.
Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, watching his beloved Liverpool Football Club and improving his golf handicap.
A specialist in investments and business protection, Rob has nearly a decade of experience in financial services and has spent five years giving face-to-face advice. Having worked for a well-known insurance company before completing a Diploma Level 4, Rob has also expanded his experience in roles at Edward Bond WM and Wesleyan. He is qualified to provide mortgage advice and prides himself on adding value to his clients.
A trustee of Burnley-based charity Furniture for Education Worldwide, Rob loves to travel and has visited Gambia and Tanzania with the charity to improve the lives of school children. He also supports Blackburn Rovers FC and enjoys spending time with his fiancé.
With over a decade of financial services experience, Jenny progressed from paraplanning to management; subsequently becoming a qualified Financial Planner, having completed a Certificate in Mortgage and Advice Practice and her Level 4 Diploma in August 2018. Jenny prides herself in working with clients as to ensure they achieve their retirement goals. As a dual role Jenny also works alongside our CEO, Christian, as a key contact for high net-worth clients.
When she’s not in the office, Jenny loves to travel. She is married and her pastimes include photography, long walks and socialising.
Mortgage & Protection Adviser
A specialist in all areas of protection and mortgage advice, Brian possesses 18 years’ experience across the industries of estate agency and financial services, seven of these years spent at ethical finance society Friends Life. Having completed his Diploma Level 4, Brian is focussed on helping would-be homeowners obtain the mortgage they need, helping those who already have a mortgage to save more and ensuring all his clients and their families enjoy priceless peace of mind.
A hobbyist coin collector, Brian can be found looking after his young daughter in his spare time, and likewise enjoys family meals out with the grandparents.
Lauren joined the team here at The Financial Options Group in March 2015 straight out of university. Lauren gained her Diploma in Financial Advice qualification in September 2018. Lauren works alongside our CEO, Christian, as a key contact for high net-worth clients. Lauren prides herself on being organised and achieving the best outcome for clients.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her partner, socialising with friends and swimming.
Client Services Manager
Having previously worked at a wealth management company as a trainee Paraplanner and for a pensions review company, Lauren provides excellent customer service and is always willing to lend a hand.
She is committed to supporting the team and helping clients to reach their financial goals.
At the weekends, Lauren enjoys meals out with her partner and stepdaughter.
Client Services Manager
Over the past eight years, Chris has worked in a variety of roles in well-known financial services firms such as Chase de Vere.
Joining us a client services manager, he brings with him energy, attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
An avid Manchester United fan, Chris enjoys travelling, playing football in a Sunday league and going to the gym.
Adviser Support Administrator
With experience gained through legal administration roles at well-known firms such as DWF, Phil brings to The Financial Options Group a wealth of valuable skills.
He holds a Master’s degree in Politics and Social Policy, which he applies to his work in the financial services industry, an area of great personal interest for him.
In his free time, Phil enjoys playing basketball and currently plays for the Bury Mavericks. He also enjoys baking, keeping up with current affairs and politics as well as playing strategy-based computer games.
Personal Assistant to Group CEO
Joining The Financial Options Group as Personal Assistant to our Group CEO, Melissa brings to the firm wide-ranging experience, which she has garnered through various administrative roles outside the financial services industry. As she helps to keep the daily engagements of our team running smoothly, organisation and forethought are her top strategies for success.
In addition to spending time with her daughter, Melissa has several pastimes including baking, photography and going on scenic walks.
A high achiever driven to deliver outstanding results in line with demanding deadlines and targets, Amy is both a fast learner and an excellent communicator. Her previous experience includes working for a Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) pension provider, and she benefits from a BSc (Hons) in International Business Management. Putting her clients first to ensure they always feel they are her top priority, Amy thrives in a lively professional environment and enjoys continuously expanding her skills sets and supporting her colleagues.
In her free time, Amy likes to stay busy by popping to the gym and walking her dog. She also enjoys spending time with her niece and nephews.
In addition to the in-house team, The Financial Options Group works in conjunction with financial advisers further afield. Together, we provide national UK coverage to bring personalised advice and guidance to clients wherever they may reside. With the help of our network of financial advisers, we lead our clients to make better financial choices and bring their financial goals within reach.
