We’re delighted to announce that our recent gala dinner raised £32,000, nearly doubling the amount raised at last year’s event.
The Financial Options Group Charitable Foundation gala in aid of Bury-based charity SuperJosh: The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity was held on Saturday 28th September at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, where guests enjoyed a champagne reception, three-course meal, live auction and a performance by funk saxophonist DaxOnSax.
The evening made a poignant statement on the power of inspirational women who change their communities for the better, as our founder and CEO Christian Pepper paid tribute to the inspiration behind our Charitable Foundation, his late mother Betty Pepper, describing her as an “incredible lady with a big heart who taught me that the most important thing in life is giving back and helping others.”
Dawn Fidler, SuperJosh CEO and mum to Josh said, “The night was such a special event and the highlight for us as a charity was that so many people wanted to support the work we do. They saw just how important the help we give to families suffering with childhood brain tumours is and the difference we can make to the quality of life of some very poorly children in our local communities.
“We are over the moon with the huge fundraising total, which will go direct to provide support packages for families going through traumatic times. The funds will be used for counselling support, home adaptations as well as specialist equipment – which can all be costly but are so vital to our special families.”
Christian Pepper added: “It’s what I call the ripple effect. Targeted support means knowing exactly where your donations go, and seeing the difference it makes to the lives of children, young people and families in need. Saturday evening’s event was amazing, and I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our corporate sponsors and guests.”
The Financial Options Group set up its Charitable Foundation in 2018, with a mission to deliver meaningful support to charities, to empower individuals and make a lasting difference to the lives of those in need in our community. The organisation provides support to a wide range of charities, including Bury Cancer Support Centre, the Salvation Army Community Centre Bury and many others. In 2018, the Foundation co-hosted a “Golf Day” followed by an evening gala dinner which raised £17,000.
